When they say “centrifugal pump 7.5 kW?”, many immediately imagine some kind of universal unit that can be plugged in anywhere and it will work. This is perhaps the most common myth. In fact, this figure is just the starting point for a whole chain of questions: what type of centrifugal pump exactly? For what environment? What pressure and flow parameters are actually needed at the facility? Many times I have encountered situations where a customer, focusing only on power, purchased equipment, which then either “suffocated” or “suffocated”. at increased network resistance, or worked at half capacity, consuming excess electricity. A key point that is often missed is the performance curve of a specific model. Two pumps with the same power of 7.5 kW from different manufacturers can have completely different operating points.
If we take exactlycentrifugal pump 7.5 kW, then you need to immediately look at the execution. Single-stage horizontal console, type K, or multi-stage sectional? For clean water for irrigation or for pumping conditionally clean water with abrasive in the VSU system? The design of the flow path, the material of the impeller and seals are what determine durability. I remember how at one of the facilities they installed a standard 7.5 kW pump to pump recycled water, and six months later the impeller looked like a sieve due to erosion. I had to change it to a model with a wear-resistant coating, although the engine power remained the same.
In our production atZhejiang Yangzijiang Pumping Industry Co.,Ltdthis moment has been worked out. The range of centrifugal pumps covers different options. For standard tasks - single-stage models, where the entire power of 7.5 kW is used to create high flow rates at moderate pressure. When high pressure is needed, say, for water supply to a multi-story building or supply to a pressure pipeline, multi-stage pumps come into play.centrifugal pumps. Here the same power is divided into several stages, each of which adds pressure. The efficiency in this mode is higher.
Testing on our own test benches is a mandatory step. It is not enough to simply assemble the pump and connect a 7.5 kW motor. It is necessary to take a real characteristic: how the unit will behave at different flow rates, whether there will be a current overload at the extreme points, what is the efficiency in the optimal operation zone. You often see beautiful curves in passports, but in practice when working “on the network?” the parameters sags. We try to ensure that the passport data corresponds as closely as possible to the real ones, and for this we need a full cycle from R&D to testing.
Where is such a “workhorse” most often in demand? at 7.5 kW? Water supply to villages, irrigation, circulation in cooling systems of industrial equipment, increasing pressure in networks. It would seem nothing complicated. But here is a typical mistake: incorrect selection of the pipeline diameter. They install a 7.5 kW pump, capable of delivering, roughly, 100 cubic meters per hour, and connect it to an old DN50 pipe. Enormous hydraulic resistance arises, the pump operates far from the optimal point on the characteristic curve, the motor overheats, and energy is wasted. It seems powerful, but it's of little use.
Another point is self-priming abilities. Not allcentrifugal pumps 7.5 kWcan independently remove air from the suction line. If you need a fence from a well or reservoir, you need to either look for a model with a self-priming function (they are available in stock, by the way), or properly arrange a circuit with a check valve and a fill funnel. Sometimes you train staff, but they still forget about filling before launch. The result is dry running, heating, and failure of the mechanical seal. Expensive repairs, but the reason is trivial.
For aggressive environments, we use plastic chemical pumps or models with a magnetic coupling. There may also be a 7.5 kW engine, but the “filling”? completely different. The mistake here is an attempt to save money and install a conventional centrifugal pump on acid. Yes, it can work for a week, but corrosion will eat it from the inside very quickly. Specialization is important.
Sometimes a problem cannot be solved with just onecentrifugal pump. Let's say you need to pump water out of a narrow well. A submersible pump is more suitable for this. Or pump a thick suspension - here a screw pump is closer. But often they work in tandem with the same 7.5 kW centrifugal pump as a pressure stage. Therefore, our production is not tailored to one type. The presence of eight lines makes it possible to complete the system: a submersible pump pumps from the depths, and a centrifugal pump creates the necessary pressure in the distribution network.
Linear centrifugal pumps are a separate interesting topic. Compact, often with a frequency converter. The 7.5 kW motor in this design allows you to smoothly adjust the parameters, adapting to the needs of the system, which gives huge savings. This is the next level after the simple “turn on and off”.
Therefore, when a client makes a request, we always clarify the full picture. Don’t “give me a 7.5 kW pump?”, but “for what, under what conditions, what environment, what is the required flow and pressure?”. Only then can a truly working solution be offered - be it a single-stage centrifugal, multi-stage or hybrid design. Information about all the types we produce is always available onhttps://www.yangtzeriverpump.ruis the starting point for dialogue.
No production is perfect. We also had cases when a batch of 7.5 kW pumps showed increased vibration. Debriefing, analysis from service visits - it turned out that the issue was a batch of bearings from the supplier. We had to quickly change and refine the inlet control technology. This is a living process. The service and repair experience that comes back to us is priceless. It directly impacts R&D. For example, a modification appeared with a reinforced shaft and simplified disassembly for repairing the oil seal or mechanical seal - just after complaints from facilities where the personnel are not very qualified.
People often ask about the safety margin. Is it worth getting a more powerful pump? For a centrifugal pump with a 7.5 kW motor, operation at a point significantly more to the right than optimal (low flow, high pressure) leads to overload and cavitation. It is better to correctly calculate the parameters and take a model whose optimal zone coincides with your constant needs. There should be a margin of pressure, but it should be reasonable, 10-15 percent, no more.
As a result, choosing such equipment is not a purchase based on one characteristic. This is an assembly of the system node. And both its resource and the economy of the entire facility depend on how correctly it is selected and installed. Our task as a manufacturer is not just to sellcentrifugal pump 7.5 kW, and so that after installation it does not create problems for its owner for many years. Everything else is technical details, which, however, are the most important.
